About Oliver Moes

Hi! I’m Oliver Moes – a Canadian currently living in Manchester, UK. I’ve been teaching English for the past 5 years to students of various ages and backgrounds. Most recently I’ve taught online to adults from South America, and before this I was living in Chengdu, China for 4 years where I taught at a university and training school.

I love meeting new people and hearing about their experiences and perspectives of the world, so I was naturally drawn to teaching! I’m a social guy who loves discussing a variety of different topics, from music to sports to film to current affairs. Whatever your goals may be, I’ll make sure to have a lesson tailored for your interest.

I have a TEFL certificate as well as a Bachelor’s degree in humanities from Concordia University in Montreal. I speak fluent French, and can speak a bit of Chinese and Spanish too, so I know the challenges and rewards of learning a new language. My lesson style centres around discussion and discovery by the student, alongside some essential writing and grammar. My classes are fun, engaging and dynamic so I hope to see you in one of them 🙂
