This course is divided in 3 sections.
1. Introduction
2. Questions on the Duolingo English Test that count towards total score.
3. Interview and bonus questions.
Each section will be sub-divided in tasks or question types that you will find in the Duolingo English Test. For each task, the instructors will explain what is expected from you in order to achieve a 140+ score. How to successfully prepare your answers during a short time, and show you some tips that will help you increase your score on the test.
In each task, the instructors will invite you to practice and also provide you model answers from the Duolingo English Test. The students will have the opportunity to practice real examples with the techniques they have just learned in the section. The model answers displayed to the students after practice are examples of answers that scored high on the exam.
This course also contains a downloadable material in which students can find Practice Exercises for many of the question types they will find the Duolingo English Test.

Task 1 - Select the Real English Words - ListeningIn this task you learn how to differentiate the real English words from nonexistent words by listening to them. We will solve practical examples together and you will be introduced to some of most common mistakes students make while doing this task and how not to make them.

Task 2 - Select the Real English Words - Writing
In this task you will learn how to differentiate the real English words from nonexistent words by reading them. We will solve practical examples together and give you tips of how to identify possible misspelling in these words.

Task 3 – Speak the English word for the images as they show
In this task you will learn how to make quick associations to the images shown to you and how to say the right answers. You will be given practical examples and the instructors will show you there is not only one answer to this task, especially if you don’t know the word for the image that appears.

Task 4 - Record yourself saying the statement below
In this task you will learn how to use your preparation time wisely before you press the recording button. You will learn some speaking techniques such as word intonations, pauses, punctuation, etc.

Task 5 - Type the statement that you hear
In this task you will be introduced to some listening and writing techniques that will help you enhance your skills in this type of question. You will learn how to comprehend each word in the sentence and efficiently write the sentence you heard.

Task 6 - Speak for at least 30 seconds
In this task you will learn techniques of how to choose the best topics for you on this speaking task as well as some tips that will help you have a clear, concise, and structured speech.

Task 7 - Write One or more sentences
In this task you will learn how to describe the images in a high level description and some writing techniques that will help you have a clear, structured and concise answer.

Task 8 - Type the missing letters
In this task you will learn vocabulary, text comprehension and writing techniques to successfully answer the "Type the missing letters" question. We will study model answers in detail, and the instructors will show how some of the words are already answered for you in the existing text and teach techniques to achieve the maximum score in this question.
You will be provided with a downloadable material with practical questions that you can practice on your own.

Task 9 - Respond the question in at least 50 words
In this task you will learn writing techniques and structure to better answer the "Respond the question in at least 50 words" question. We will study two model answers in detail, and you will be invited to practice by pausing the lesson video and attempting one of the questions prompts. A detailed explanation on how to score the maximum points for this task will be provided.
